It's obviously informal (barn) and people who love your kids will not mind picking up a chair. But if you do decide to have a team (teenage boys springs to mind) move them, you could have a diversion of small appetizers in another spot, to encourage mingling (standing mingling, that is.)
But that's just my opinion.
Congrats to your happy couple!!!jennybekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11496184328073453027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3176257300500423625.post-75002240571536334572011-09-21T09:51:34.991-04:002011-09-21T09:51:34.991-04:00$300 for chairs? $600 is a big chunk of money. I'm very cheap and already $300 seems like a lot of money for chairs. I also didn't spend a lot on my wedding (well, it was a lot to me but for a wedding not much) so I may not be the right one to answer the question.Jessynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3176257300500423625.post-48184620054587094922011-09-20T10:17:07.695-04:002011-09-20T10:17:07.695-04:00I would assign "chair moving" to some ab...I would assign "chair moving" to some able bodied men. I haven't owned a pair since I was a teen/early 20s. Great look!!

Regarding the chairs...me personally, I would just pay extra for the chairs or hire someone to move them between the ceremony and reception. But hey, I am a big chicken when it comes to asking others to do things.

Since this is a semi-formal outdoor wedding, I don't see anything wrong with asking a few strong men to help move the chairs you are renting. Besides, it's you...who is going to say no?! You made me really laugh out loud. :)

I know someone who is having an outdoor wedding and the bride is asking all her friends to donate for the day any wooden chairs they have. They are even going dumpster diving for some(ie if you see one sitting on the side of the road to go out on trash day in good condition, pick it up). They are painting them all white so they kind of match. Just thought I would pass this idea a long. technically you are supposed to ask people to bring their own chairs, but if you have to, go a head a do it. Just be forewarned some people are going to forget and will have to stand if you dont plan to have extras.Monkeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14673684366007656022noreply@blogger.com
