Swaps & Stuff...

Thursday, April 29, 2010

With everything else going on I have also been participating in a couple of swaps...

The sweet women I have been swapping with were so kind as to let me send things a little late and in two parts...One goodies from Maine and the second part, crafts and stuff I made here in TN.
I got the last of their stuff in the mail just this morning, so I felt like it was time to show you all the goodies they spoiled me with.

My first swap was a Spring Swap hosted by Little Miss Heirlooms.

My swap partner and new friend is Stephanie from 320 Days of Sunshine.

She spoiled me with lots of fun stuff...
1) There was a cute purse that I love...
(I am calling this a purse, and not a tote... for personal reasons...)

2) Some home made laundry detergent...
(Stephanie, I make mine too, but I use ZOTE soap...
yours smells so much better...
What soap do you use?)

3) Lots of cute scrapbook/card making supplies... I love the felt!!

4) Some Stampin' Up stamps
Did I ever mention I used to sell Stampin' Up like a million (or like 13) years ago?

5) Four super cute Heidi Swapp Stamps

6) A little bag full of breath mints... (I think I'll not comment further on that...lol)

7) A sweet bracelet that Cate snagged in minutes after it's photo op....

8) The softest, most beautiful scarf...

I couldn't get a good shot of it, so I swiped this from her site...
I wish you could touch this...
If it weren't 80 degrees out, I'd have it on....

9) And then there is this...
I am in love with this necklace...
I have it on right now...
Stephanie has a ESTY store you can buy these from...
For only $12 would these not make the cutest Mother's Day gift?

Thank you Stephanie for all of these fun gifts!

I will be back tomorrow to show you the goodies Joyce sent me in the other swap I participated in....

PS. I had to enable comment moderation.
For the last few days I have been getting spam in my comments.
Today I had to delete four spam comments.
I am hoping to break the cycle of this.

Alice in Wonderland Swap....

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Remember when I posted last week about the Alice in Wonderland Swap I was participating in? (Click HERE for a recap) The one hosted by Just add Glitter & Stir... Well, I wanted to post what I received from my partner Bryanna over at the Canary's Cupcake... She went way above and beyond.... Well, just look...

First I got this sweet altered White Rabbit...

(Photo from Bryanna's blog)

She made these cute cupcake boxes for the girlies and included a sweet necklace for each of them...

They love them!

Everything came wrapped in tulle & ribbons...
Like these Fruit Teas...

So fun to open!

But the best part, literally knocked my socks off...
She made me this AIW themed charm bracelet!

Photos do not do this justice... it is amazing.
I look at these kind of bracelets all the time in boutiques, but they never fit my big wrists...
She made this one custom for me!
It fits perfectly...
It brought a tear to my eyes...
I still find new charms on it..
Oh, Bryanna... I love it,
Thank you!

Thanks for listening,

My crafty ways...

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

The crafting vacation I did "not" confess to Monday has been a lot of fun... I wanted to show you some of what I've been up to....

I took this plain clipboard that cost .98 at Walmart

And turned it into this with some cute paper, chipboard and some mod-podge...

I also have been doing a lot of crafting for the Alice In Wonderland theme swap I was participating in. I know my swap partner received her package so now I can show you some of what I've been up to...

I made her this padded camera strap...

Did you notice the Mad Hatter in the center of the flower?

I've been making a bunch of these camera strap covers for gifts and they have been really fun.
The others I've been making don't have the flower...
but a few have camera lens cover pockets.

I also took a little vinyl scrapbook from Hobby Lobby, some mod-podge, ribbon and embellishments and spiffed it up for her...

She sent me some pictures of her cute family and I had fun scrapping them...
I admit the AIW theme here is a little weak... I shopped for supplies that reminded me of the overall story and theme, but didn't stick to just the theme for the pages...
Here, I'll show you...

Remember the hint I put out last week...

A couple people asked what I did with the Scrabble tiles...

I flipped them over and made these charms...
sorry the picture is so bad... I really wish you could see them...
One is a pocket watch, the Rabbit, Alice with a flamingo and the Mad Hatter all really vintage looking....
I used this dimensional jewel coat over them that made them turn out neat..
I plan to make more this week...

I also dressed up some treats...
(jelly beans and a chocolate bar...)

And after scrapbooking all those cute photos I wanted to include something for JJ...
(Her sweet boy)
He is into rockets, so when I saw this little wooden shape at Hobby Lobby I know I had to get it...
Sparky picked out the little Nerf ball for him...

Whatever Swap...

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Recently I took part in the "Whatever Swap" from The Smith Family: We Are More Than Conquerors... The premise is that we were supposed to send a package of "whatever" valued at at least $15 to the person who signed up below us... You choose the theme... shop or create... it's all up to you... It turns out that is harder then it sounds.... I got wonderful swap partners...

Carrie from Wonderfully Sew Knit  sent to me (click HERE to see what she received from her partner)... "Wonderfully sew knit" is not false advertising... she made me the sweetest Spring Theme items...

Here is everything in the box...
So fun to open!

She made me this sweet guy...

Just look at his sweet face...
(She included the little nosegay... I had him old them to show you.)

There was these three cute boxes...
filed with surprises...

The Blue one contained this little homemade chick...
...too cute!

The pink one had these hand knit "hand warmers"
These immediately became Sparky's...
as she "tried them on... and they never came back...
(Carrie... you made her day too!)

The blue one had Jelly Beans!
In front of the jelly beans is a little "tea pouch" Carrie made...
(teas included)

Way down in the bottom of the box where theses cute coasters...
How Fun!!

I feel so spoiled!

What did I send... you ask?

I got Kathryn from KV Creative Designs

Well, mine just went out in the mail Friday,
so I don't want to ruin the surprise...

How about just a peek?...

Here's another...

Friday was also the ship date for the "Alice in Wonderland" swap I'm doing from...
My swap partner Bryanna from The Canary's Cupcake gave me some hints last week...
so here is her hint....

Illuminating... huh?

PS...

Late Thursday night I reminded Sparky she is supposed to be my Saturday guest contributor....

I guess she forgot....

But did she have anything ready?

Apparently she had a book report, history report and biology test this week and YEC (Youth Evangelism Conference) in Nashville this weekend...

Excuses... Excuses...
Can we look forward to a guest post next week?

I'll take that as a yes...
