Five Favorites Friday...

Friday, February 12, 2010

First of all the "Name my family" contest and giveaway is officially over. I have one family member who is needing a little more time... (No, not P surprisingly..) So I will be announcing the winners later today.

1. Blog: The Canary's Cupcake...  I have been getting my "craft" on all week. I am participating in a craft swap with this uber-cool lady in Northwest Arkansas, Bryanna. She and her family is as cute as a button... And her story of moving across the country, leaving everything behind and completely changing their entire lifestyle for her sweet little boy's health brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to show you guys what I've been making for her, but want her to be surprised... (I may have to give hints from time to time though...)

2. Tote Bag: The LL Bean Boat & Tote is one thing I couldn't live without. I love these bags... I can't live without them. If you know me in real life you know I have a whole "wardrobe" of these bags... I have them in every size and a bunch of small and medium ones in fun colors and prints. A few years back I told my mom if she is ever in doubt about what to buy me... get me one of these...and she has been feeding my addition ever since. They last forever and aren't expensive (bonus)....You can even go to the website and design your own...fun!

3. Calendar: Kate Libby Calendars... I know... I'm a little late on this since we are a month and a half into the year, but these aren't just calendars... they are art. They come in a series of prints ready to frame. I bought the large size calendar and 12 acrylic frames and hung them in a grid in our breakfast room in Maine. I not only got compliments but having 12 months on display I was always able to tell you what day of the week March 21st or April 25 were.... They really brightened up a somewhat dreary corner... Here look:

4. Baby Gift: The Funky Newborn Munchkins Hat byMadAboutColour on ETSY.com ... This is the cutest thing I have laid eyes on in a long time. They aren't cheap, but look how cute they are and they come in lots of colors...

5. Cute Boots: Sperry Top-Sider™ Patchwork Rain Boot at Garnet Hill... I guess all the rain, snow and slush this year has been getting to me. I love snow, but this wet stuff is murder on my favorite Uggs, so I was thinking these would not only be practical, but they are too cute! They make me smile... Take a look... These are kinda pricey so I wouldn't get them for the girlies whose tastes are so fickle they would wear them only a couple times.. but for myself.... hmmm...

As promised yesterday... I decided to make this a MckLinky Party... For those of you who don't have blogs, this is a chance to pop around and see some other fun blogs...for those of you who do, link up and I'll drop by and leave some comment love for y'all...this party is "come as you are..." meaning you don't have to do a "Five Favorites Friday" post, you can just link up to a post about 1 of your favorite things... or 100... it's up to you.... or just go ahead and link up your favorite post of all times... $100 Monopoly Dollars if it makes me laugh! Here... I'll go first....

Thanks for listening,

  1. Thank you so much, Im honored! *blush*... and that hat makes me want to have another baby... omg!! so darling!!

  2. I liked the Canary's Cupcake site, and the little hats look like something out of the Jim Carey's version of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas! they are cute however. Sooooooo Who is the Big winner from the name your family contest?

  3. Did you really have to add the picture of the baby in the hat??? LOL! So beautful! Love the tote bags too! Great post! Aya, daughter number one, is laying beside me reminding me to say, "Happy Valentine's Day!" ;-)
