Wonderful Mother/Daughter Moment... Hopefully....

We are off to the big city (Nashville...lol) to find a prom dress for my sweet Cate... My sweet Cate has a very hard to fit figure and an image in her mind of what the perfect prom dress would look like.... these two things may (and usually do) conflict with each other... We have a "shopping history" that is not positive... She  has hang-ups about the number inside the dress... if the size she thinks she takes doesn't fit she will often refuse to try the next size up... insisting she is not that size... It doesnt matter how many times I point out that one manufacturer's size 12 is another's size 16.... She also really wants to shop in the Juniors department even though the cut of those clothes rarely look good on her.... She is not only very curvy with cleavage that practically starts at her throat, she ia also nearly 6' tall so short styles are really, really short... aghhhhh....

Pray for us to have a good day...

I will report back later on....

Thanks for listening,

  1. I know exactly what your day will be like, having lived it a few times in the not so distant past. I hope you have a day of great fun and stumble upon the absolute perfect dress on the 75% off rack!

  3. I had the hardest time shopping when I was in highschool! I always wanted to wear what everyone else did, but I definitely am well endowed in the chest department and my mom would always make me get the bigger sizes and the clothes I didn't want. Now, I'm so thankful for her helping me stay a modest person, and now I actually know how to dress as an adult haha. So eventually she'll grow out of that shopping stage we hope. My mom still talks about my shopping meltdowns though! :)

  5. I pray that your day was productive and Cate looks beautiful in everything I have ever seen her in. :) I have trouble shopping for my tall girl as well. The dresses are way short and way cut too low! Blessings!

  6. Hope it went well! I have logged MANY hours of prom (and other formal) dress shopping with our girls --- and we struggled with cleavage issues....and sizes too! Try to stay in the moment girl!
