Jumping Off Point...

Time to start planning wedding #2...

For that we need a jumping off point...

No, I don't mean a bridge... I mean inspiration photos...

For those we headed to our favorite source for all things inspiration... Yep, pintrest!

First up, the engagement party...
We are a bit late on this, because we asked the kids to wait until after Katy & Jed's wedding, but the invites for this first official shindig of wedding #2 will go out next week!
This is our inspiration photo for the engagement party...
We plan to do three kinds of pasta, baskets of bread and a make your own strawberry shortcake bar...

Then comes my inspiration photo for the bridal shower... Which probably won't be until next April, but it is never too soon to start planning... That way I can be on the look out for all the cute vintage props I will need! (Thrift shops and yard sales, here I come!)

Finally, with the big day scheduled for June 15, 2013 here is a peek at our initial inspirations...

Cute aisle decor...

We love the mix of rustic and glam this arbor is... We will be searching for a chandelier all year!

Allison wants lots of colors... The dress will be subdued but she want lots of flowers in fun, girly, spring time colors.

Bridesmaids in navy chiffon...

Groom and groomsmen in gray slacks and vests with navy (bow) ties...

This is her favorite flower girl dress so far, but she has pinned about 20 different styles!

They plan to do a pie buffet instead of cake, and likes the following pictures, only she wants a lot more color at her reception... Think more anthropologie, less rustic...

That's it for now...
All the above photos come from pintrest... If you want the links for any of them let me know! (I'm just too lazy to link them all up here!)

I am off to bake some more... The catering job Allison and I have for the Antique Show is this weekend... I'll pop back in the next day or so and share our menu with you!

Thanks for listening,

  2. Oh my heavens, I love it all!!! Good taste, ladies! Great idea with the pie buffet, the flower girl dress is adorable, I love the tree trunk aisle decorations, and I look great in navy, so if you need a back-up bridesmaid, just call. ;) It's so, so cute... I wish I could be there in real life.

ps. the hanging outdoor lights in the first photo are available at Target, in case you need to know. They have an assortment of really cute ones at pretty good prices.

  3. Love the log/section "tables" along the aisle - perfect for the NE (or the NW!), and the pie buffet sounds heavenly. Much better than cake!

You've got a busy time ahead of you - hope all goes well!
