Post-Its In The Morning...

Saturday, July 14, 2012

Update: First of all I just want to say, Maine and Mainers are so weird! (And yes, I am one... I know... You don't have to say it!) Let's just say, I was not over dressed... I was also not under-dressed... There was a woman there about my age in what could only be described as a full-on prom dress and one of the groom's uncles wore swim trunks, a tee shirt and crocs... AND these people didn't particularly stand out! It was a very different kind of affair, but still...

In case you are wondering, I wore this dress in a blue and white print...
I also got about 6" cut off my hair this week so I was sporting my new summer bob... I don't know if there are pictures, but I will share if I see some on facebook!

Thanks for listening,

  1. Good for you! Here in the Pacific Northwest we have a reputation for being very casual... sometimes too casual. I'd rather be a little over-dressed than under-dressed, but as long as other folks are modest and not drawing attention to themselves, I guess I don't much care what people wear.

I've never been to a morning wedding, but you know, it might be a reasonable way to keep the cost down (as opposed to serving a full dinner, y'know?) But they may have had completely different reasons.

  2. Well, here we go again with Utahns and their weddings. . . everyone wears church dress. Unless you are a slob and come in something else and instantly feel embarrassed. . . but 99% of us show up in a dress 'n heels, hubs in a shirt 'n tie.

    Man we are boring.

  3. My wedding attire is like yours - nicer than church wear. I like the dress you choose. Blue has always looked nice on you. Can't wait to see a picture iof your new hair do. :-)

  4. I've seen morning weddings with that serve brunch DURING the wedding. Everyone sits at round tables chewing and sipping while the bride & groom are being hitched. It is a cute-ish idea, but I think it seems less official, too (more like a renewal service). That dress is pretty. I miss wearing all of my dresses, but that's what happens when you are pregnant two summers in a row.

  5. Always better to be over dressed than undressed for sure. Well, as long as it's not a prom dress, that is. ha.

I say your dress was perfect! And we still need to see your hair!
