This week Sucks...

Sorry if that offends you...
It just does.

As I mentioned the other day, Cate's boyfriend's brother died suddenly. We know him real well, but even though we go to the same church we don't know his parents very well. But this is Lobster Festival week and a lot of people around here either directly or indirectly rely a lot on this week for income, so people are tied up. Throw in that this is "soulfest" week... Several days of christian music performances down in Massachusetts that a large group from our church have prepaid and planned to attend for a long time... Well, there are not many people left to organize meals... So, yep that's on me... Or to coordinate the food for the funeral, so again, that's me. Or to sit with his mom and keep her company and pray with her as her (mostly unsaved) extended family continually upset her... So that's on me to. I also typed the obituary and scanned, edited and submitted a photo to the newspaper. And I am designing the little memorial booklet that hand out at the funeral to help save money... Oh and since only one other person volunteered to cook this week she and I are doing that too and pretending it's coming from others...

I am overwhelmed...

Then last night I noticed that my sweet kitty Otis was acting funny. He is only six years old but he has on going health problems and has had several surgeries...We took him to the vet this morning and there was nothing more they could do...

He had to be "put to sleep" this morning...

He was no ordinary cat... I know everyone thinks that about their pets, but he really was the most gentle, sweet guy. He loved everyone and would cuddle and snuggle and generally won over everone he met... Even cat haters. I loved him... a lot.. I will miss him... a lot.

This week sucks...

Thanks for listening,

  2. I know that you are overwhelmed however I am sure that she appreciates everything you are doing. God places us where we are need the most. My son died almost two months ago in a motorcycle accident. I am completely devastated by his death. My family and friends did many wonderful things to help us. We were in shock so everything they did helped to ease the pain. When you lose a child your heart is broken. When everyone goes back to their lives you have only your memories and the silence. I am sorry for the loss of your beloved cat.
